The United People of America is governed by an elected Governing Council under the founding eldership of Jermaine Haughton. All governance is transparent, documented, and accountable to the membership.

Governing Council

Structure and Authority

The Governing Council consists of three to seven members elected by the community for two-year terms. The Council is responsible for financial oversight, ordination of ministers, disciplinary matters, and stewardship of the Book of Covenant.

Requirements for Ordination

Minimum six months of active membership in good standing

Completion of the Five Modules of Stewardship Study

A written statement of calling, reviewed by the Governing Council

An interview with the full Governing Council

Approval by two-thirds of the Council

Ordination ceremony at the Monthly Assembly, witnessed by the community

Our commitment to transparency

All financial decisions are documented and reported to the membership at each Monthly Assembly. Annual financial reports are made available to all active members. The Governing Council operates under the principle that secrecy in governance is a form of dishonesty.
